This year we will be learning about American history from the Colonial period through modern day. We will learn about our nation's holidays, patriotic songs and our rights and responsibilities as citizens. We will learn about the Pilgrims, the Revolutionary War and the important people who, with God's help, made our country great.
Students will also learn map skills. By the end of the second grade students will know the names and how to find the seven continents, the oceans, Canada, Mexico, and all fifty states!
